Now, twenty minutes, twice a day is not an all or nothing proposition. Meaning that if you don’t meditate 20 minutes, twice a day it doesn’t work at all. The benefits are proportional.

Meditation is like any other hygienic practice. Hygiene is by definition any conditions or practices conducive to health.  People immediately think of brushing and flossing and/or showering and bathing. But eating vegetables is also a hygienic practice. Most dentists will tell you to brush twice a day and floss once. Most physicians will say to bathe or shower at least once daily. Most nutritionists will tell you to eat five servings of vegetables. Those are also not “all or nothing” propositions.

When it comes to these types of hygienic practices, there’s what’s referred to as the “minimal effective dose” and the “optimal dose”.  The “minimal effective dose” is the least amount that provides some significant benefit.  Significant is the keyword here. What is the least amount you can do to move the needle enough that it makes a real overall positive change in your life.

If you were to meditate twice a month, it would still be a beneficial experience, but it wouldn’t change the overall picture of your life. The “minimal effective dose” for Access Meditation is 10 minutes once a day of the Access Stillness mental technique (with or without the 3 to 5 minutes of Access Calm breathing technique).  If you practiced Access Meditation consistently once a day for as little as 10 minutes, your life would still improve significantly.

But then there’s the “optimal dose”. The “optimal dose” is that amount that provides maximum results.  For Access Meditation, the “optimal dose” is 20 minutes of the Access Stillness mental technique (with or without the 3 to 5 minutes of Access Calm breathing technique) twice a day.

When we do 5 minutes of the breathing technique, followed by 20 minutes of the mental technique, we call this the “full program”.

The full program sounds like a lot, but it’s not. It’s less than 5% of your day. It goes by very quickly and it actually gives you time back.

Let me explain.

The 20 minutes itself of the Access Stillness mental technique goes by shockingly fast. Unlike most forms of meditation, where 2 minutes can sometimes feel like 2 hours. When you practice the Access Stillness mental technique, 20 minutes can feel like 5.  This is because the mind enters a de-exited state automatically and spontaneously. It’s very similar to getting a really fantastic massage. You’ve booked a 90-minute massage, and when the therapist tells you the massage is over you’re almost in disbelief in how fast the time went. You weren’t asleep, but because your body became so relaxed, your mind de-excited and you stopped paying attention. There were moments when you forgot that you were getting a massage. Similarly, when you practice the Access Stillness technique, there are moments when you forget that you're meditating. Guess what? With this methodology, that counts as meditation!

With most other forms of meditation, because you have to focus, concentrate, pay attention, or visualize, your mind never de-excites. And if it does, that’s considered failure! With the Access Stillness technique, it’s success!

Access Meditation gives you more time.

I get it, you’re probably busier than ever. You have more to do and it feels like there's never enough hours in the day to get done everything you NEED to do. More often than not, you don't have the time to get a chance to do what you WANT to do.

Regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status, the one commodity we all share equally is TIME.

Most people tend to think of time very linearly. Meaning, if you spend a few minutes meditating, that's time you can't spend working, or exercising, or watching a show. But the truth is Access Meditation gives us MORE time.

Stress steals time away from us. Do you procrastinate when you feel overwhelmed? Get distracted?

Stress puts your mind and body into a state of over-excitation. It's exhausting and you become unproductive.

Unfortunately, we can’t add any extra hours to the day. But we can change how we can experience the hours we have. The key to expanding your day is to change your state.

The profound deep rest experienced with Access Meditation heals your body of the effects of decades of accumulated stress and provides you with energy and clarity so that you can be infinitely more productive, efficient, and available in all of your relationships and endeavors. When you practice Access Meditation, a 20-minute meditation feels like you slept for 1 to 2 hours. Do that twice a day, and it's the equivalent of getting an extra 3 to 4 hours of sleep. Imagine how much more you could do with all that extra rest. Even as little as 10 minutes of Access Meditation, once a day, makes a significant difference.

Let me give you a personal example:

Back when I learned to meditate, I was a junior attorney at a large international law firm in New York City. My workdays were typically 13 to 14 hours long. I would show up at 8am and leave around 9pm or 10pm on a good day. I didn't think I had time to meditate. But when I did, I actually got more work done in less time.

Before meditation, if I had a small project assigned to me at 9am when I was still relatively fresh, it would take me an hour to complete.  But if I was given the same small project at 9pm after I had been working for 13 hours and was completely exhausted and overwhelmed, the same project would take 2 or 3 hours.

All that changed when I took some time out of my day to meditate. It was like I was operating on a full battery all day long. I was equally efficient at 9pm as I was at 9am!

If it works like that for me. And I’ve seen it work like that for countless students. I know it will work for you. In fact, I guarantee it. Access Meditation truly helps you do it all.
