Learn to Meditate
An overview Access Meditation and how to learn
The System
Access Meditation is extremely “user-friendly”. It de-excites your mind and settles your body into a state of deep rest and relaxation automatically and spontaneously without any effort, focus or concentration, or attempting to control your mind or suppress thoughts.
It is a system that consists of two proprietary techniques that when used in a specific sequence produce remarkably powerful results: relief from anxiety, depression, and insomnia; increased mental clarity, creativity, and productivity and athletic performance; improved immune function, overall health, and well-being.
Access Meditation is unique in that it leverages the mind-body connection in two directions. It takes both a “bottom-up” approach (body influencing the mind) through a breathing technique and a “top-down” approach (mind influencing the body) through a mental technique.
Ben taught me something that I will use every day for the rest of my life.

The Technique
Access Calm
The first technique used in the Access Meditation system is a breathing technique called Access Calm. It is designed to activate your parasympathetic nervous system to automatically reduce heart rate and induce relaxation. You may perform this breathing technique on its own in moments of acute stress as an “emergency brake” to stay calm or to help you fall asleep or fall back asleep (some of our students report it works better than Ambien). The Access Calm breathing technique is also used in sequence with the Access Stillness mental technique to create an incredibly profound meditation experience.
Access Stillness
The second technique used in the Access Meditation system is a mental technique called Access Stillness. It is a form of mantra meditation, where you sit comfortably with your back supported and eyes closed and silently experience a particular sound, a uniquely designed mantra, that de-excites your mind and puts your body into a deep state of rest automatically and spontaneously without any effort, focus, or concentration.
Imagine your mind as an ocean...
On the surface are the waves, very active and turbulent. Think of these waves as your thoughts. But as soon as you move below the surface, the water becomes quieter and stiller. The deeper you go, the quieter and stiller the water becomes...
When you reach a certain depth, where the stillness becomes so dominant that you don’t feel the active moving water above. This is where the Access Stillness technique brings you, allowing you a direct experience of your most essential self, of the “you” that lies beyond all your thoughts and stress and struggles.
The weight of the world around me no longer clung to me like concrete but shed off with every mediation session. My level of stress lessened and my happiness grew.
